| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | To sustain in a changing environment requires organizations or managers to strike a balance between exploitation and exploration (Cohen et al., 2007; March, 1991). This one-year research proposal aims to expand our previous 3-year project in order to harvest the best benefit utilizing the already collected data. This project will continue to investigate the managerial traits that drive the ambidexterity from a neuroscientic approach based on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In our last project, we focused on flexible optimism; this project will focus on cross-cultural experience. We propose that cross-cultural experience is likely to contribute to the ability of individual decision makers to effectively switch between exploitation and exploration. Cross-cultural experience is an important issue in international business research, research results will also provide good references for companies that are planning for overseas expansion. Many companies and universities invest large amount of money, sending employees or future employees (students) overseas to broaden their perspectives or work. Whether such investment enables employees to make better decision switching between exploration and exploitation is the issue this project would like to explore. In so doing, our proposal aims to provide micro foundation of decision making in nurturing international talents. | |
