| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | 存貨記錄錯誤(IRI, inventory record inaccuracy)是個在零售業很普遍的問題,並造成了不少獲利損失,為了因應IRI這個問題,我們從一家零售公司蒐集資料來進行這個研究計畫。我們首先應用連續時間塑模和統計方法來分析IRI的群體特徵,具體而言,我們實證上估計出存貨資訊的衰退率和錯誤幅度的機率分配,並透過蒙地卡羅模擬推論存貨檢查強度和上述統計參數的函數關係。基於前一階段實證資料分析的成果,我們將把實徵估計函數整合至最佳化決策模型中,提出兩個群體存貨檢查模型,預期推導出一些管理洞見提出政策上的建議給零售業經理人。本研究除了提供理論和實務上因應IRI的方針,預期樹立一個作業管理研究中運用多種數量方法的典型範例。 | |
| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | Inventory record inaccuracy (IRI) is a pervasive problem in retailing and causes non-trivial profit loss. To tackle IRI, we collect data from a retailer and initiate this research project. We first use continuous-time modeling and statistical methods to analyze group-level (e.g., store, category) characteristics of IRI. Specifically, we empirically estimate the failure rate of information decay and the probability distribution of error magnitude. Moreover, we capitalize on simulation methods to derive the functional relationships between inspection intensity and statistical parameters. Grounded on the estimation results, we incorporate those empirical estimates into optimization modeling. We develop two group-level inventory inspection models. After that we expect to derive analytical insights and make policy recommendations to retail store managers. In addition to developing theoretical and practical guidelines, our project aims to provide a prototypical example of multi-methodological research in operations management. | |
