| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | 本研究主要探討是否擁有自用住宅對退休後消費的影響。過去許多文獻指出，民眾退 休後的消費會有減少的現象，即是所謂的退休-消費的難題（Retirement Consumption Puzzle)，由於房屋相對較其他金融資產而言，其流動性較差，持有期間較長，且房貸 的繳款期間多達二十年以上，對終生的消費行為應該具有一定的影響。本研究透過1976 年到2012年家庭收支調查資料所建構的準長期追蹤資料(Pseudo-Panel data)，利用迴歸 不連續設計(Regression Discontinuity Design)的方法來分析是否擁有自用住宅對退休後 消費的影響，此外也透過年齡-年代-世代分解(Age-period-cohort decomposition)的方法 來，進一步了解不同世代間退休後消費的行為。本研究提供新的研究實證結果將提供 學術界對退休-消費的難題有更新與更完備的了解。 | |
| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | This study mainly focuses on whether the ownership of a residence would have an impact on the owner’s consumption after retirement. The literature suggests that the consumption would be reduced after retirement, which is referred to as the “Retirement-Consumption Puzzle”. In comparison with other financial assets, the ownership of residences results in lower liquidity and a longer holding period. Besides, the mortgage payment period is usually longer than 20 years. Therefore the ownership of a residence should have a certain impact on lifetime consumption behavior. By adopting the regression discontinuity design (RDD), this study analyzes pseudo-panel data that are based on the Survey of Family Income and Expenditure (SFIE) from 1976 to 2012 to explore whether the ownership of a residence has an impact on the consumption after retirement. Moreover, the age-period-cohort (APC) decomposition is also adopted in this paper to gain a further understanding of the consumption behaviors after retirement between different generations. We believe that the results of this study will provide new evidence and understanding of the retirement consumption puzzle to the literature. | |
