摘要 Universities today are expected to go beyond fulfilling their social responsibilities by embracing cross-disciplinary educational innovations that address the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainable development. These innovations aim to meet diverse objectives aligned with the SDGs. Furthermore, universities are integrating new curricula through both formal and informal educational systems, adapting to the digital age and responding to the needs of a generation largely composed of digital natives. This chapter explores the global discourse on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), education for sustainable development (ESD) framework, and university innovation; examines national SDGs and ESG policies in Taiwanese higher education. It also presents three benchmarked universities as reference models for institutional innovation. Implications for university innovation and quality assurance in higher education are discussed in the concluding section.
