| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | Abstract\r\nNo matter its ideology or economic conditions, crime is unavoidable in any society. However, different economic development stage has different kinds of crime. Taking Taiwan for an example, in agricultural and industrial economic development stage, the total crime rates are about thirty cases per 10,000. Surprisingly, when it comes into service and informational stage, the total crime rates jumps to sixty cases per 10,000. It is a double growth. The purpose of this study is to explore what theory can better explain the phenomenon in Taiwan, the theory of Durkheime’s Anomie or the Karl Marx’s conflict theory?\r\nThe researcher uses five independent variables to represent the theory of Durkheim’s Anomie. Specifically, these are economic growth rate, unemployment rate, and the level of industrialization, urbanization and the divorce rate. The other two – Gini coefficient and the career class represent the Marx’s conflict theory. The results shows that Durkheim’s conflict theory is much more convincing than the Marx’s conflict theory in Taiwan. It means that the crime is influenced by social and economic change more than the social inequality. Besides, the crimes were not measured by economic development for short stage; by the way, they are measured by economic development for long term.\r\nBased on the theory of Durkheim’s Anomie, findings of this study implies that: the government should balance the distances between human and technology; paying too much social cost to get high economic growth rate is not necessary, finally, the government should deal with unemployment rate carefully. On the other hand, Marx’s theory implied that: in resources arrangement, government should insist in the procedural justice and real justice to make people believe the principle of equality. | en_US |
