Female Images in "Kojiki" Volume One

Accordingly, studying their types of personality can help us to find out the depth of their stories and classify and generalize them in “Kojiki”, furthermore, analyze the structure of “Kojiki” and its editing direction. Because there is a large quantity of female characters in “Kojiki”, I plan to divide it into three parts to study. This thesis will focus on Volume One to study personality types of female characters. For finding the features of characters in “Kojiki”, I compare it with “Nihonnsyoki”. By the method of comparison, I have found in “Kijiki” Volume One female characters are concluded into five major personality types -- Goddess of Mother Earth, First Ancestress, Witch, Princess and Chief’s Daughter.
