| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | 本研究計畫探討「信仰者」與「研究者」在宗教研究中的對立關係及其解決之道。 宗教學界在學術知識講求專業與分工，以及研究方法強調科學與客觀的潮流衝擊下，近 三十多年來對於宗教的定義、宗教經驗、宗教的核心與界圍、研究的內涵、宗教與其他 學科的關係等，持續進行熱烈的反思探討，而有關「信仰者」與「研究者」的對應關係， 更是其中論辯的重點之一。圍繞此問題，大部分的學者不是堅持應以「信仰者」為主體， 而「研究者」需闡發信仰的本質和意義，就是主張「研究者」有其主權，應運用科學方 法對「信仰者」進行客觀的研究。本計畫除耙梳此一論辯的來龍去脈以及牽涉的宗教研 究基本問題之外，將嘗試跳脫兩者對立的框架，從認識論層面著手，探討如何肯定雙方 的主體性，並從賞析音樂與藝術的角度立論，為宗教研究在當代學術領域尋找新的定位。 | - |
| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | Urged by the trend of academic specilization and the emphasis on scientific objectivity, scholars have been engaged in reexamining some of the fundamental issues in the study of religion in the past thirty years. They have been debating over the definiton of religion, religious experience, the core and boundary of religion, the specific contents of religious studies, the study of religion and its relationship with other academic disciplines, etc. The relationship between the believer and the reseracher or between the insdier and the outsider, too, has become a prominent part of these hot discussions. Centering about this issue, some insist that the researcher should respect the subjectivity of the believer, and that the purpose of religious studies is to explore the essence and meanng of religion. Others claim that in the study of religion as an academic discipline, the researcher should have his or her authority in the application of scientific methods and in expressing what he or she objectively observes. The project here presented would delve into the pros and cons on this issue, taking the important points it touches on into keen consideration. Most significant of all, it would go beyond the oppositional conceptual frame that seems to constrain the current debates. Instead, it proposes to tend to the epistemological dimension from which the disagreements stemmed and in which one could affirm the subjectivity of both the believer and the researcher. The research project would finally attempt to seek the possibility of treating the study of religion as introducing a piece of music or appreciating a work of art and therefrom to obtain its new status in our modern scholarship. | - |
