題名 Manufacturing strategies of network-based small firms: Observations on the textile industry in Taiwan

摘要 Effective manufacturing strategies may enhance a firms competitive strength. We conducted a field survey to examine the manufacturing strategies of 22 network-based small firms in the textile industry in Taiwan. In this work, a framework consisting of eight dimensions of manufacturing strategies is used to explore possible competitive advantages of a network system. Research results suggest that the manufacturing strategies of the network have enhanced the competitive determinants of flexibility, delivery and cost. In order to maintain competitive strength, we suggest that a network constituent at the front end of the production process serve as a leader to initiate systematic quality improvement programs for the entire network.
