摘要 本研究探討在各種科技工具輔助下的知識創新(knowledge building)活動對小學生圖像素養(指具有瞭解和創造圖像之能力--包括通過圖像以思考、學習和表達)、寫作能力、想法改進技能、以及其他相關高階思維能力的影響。從現有文獻中可知,探討數位合作知識創新與學習活動中的繪圖或圖畫(drawing)學習過程與結果的相關研究仍十分有限(see Cheng & Hong, 2016)。因此本計畫擬運用不同發展中的合作知識創新科技工具來提昇學生在圖像素養和數位寫作上的能力。這些科技工具將在『知識論壇』(Knowledge Forum, KF)線上多媒體環境中開發,包括第一年會立即使用到的繪圖工具(graphical tool),與預期在第二和第三年時使用以支持論壇中寫作、改進與發展學生思維的另外兩個翻新想法工具。資料分析將聚焦在上述論壇工具使用下所產生的線上學習歷程(如線上討論內容)、線上學習成果(如圖像素養)、與二者間的相關統計。本研究預期在參與上述合作知識創新科技工具支持下的知識創新活動後,學生能夠在學習過程中形成有效團體互動、提昇創意想法、與產生有意義的社群知識共構與討論,並在學習成果上能夠提升學習者的圖像素養與其數位寫作能力。
This study explores the effect of engaging elementary students in various tool-supported knowledge building activities on the development of their graphical literacy, writing ability, idea improvement skills, and other related high-level thinking capacities. The literature suggests that there has been limited formal studies of the role of drawings in online learning processes. In this study, the drawings and online discussion will be mainly supported by a graphical tool developed for an online multimedia environment--Knowledge Forum (KF)—in the first year and complementarily facilitated by the other two knowledge building tools developed in the 2nd and 3rd year that will support sustained idea improvement. Data analysis will focus on content analysis of all the graphical drawings and online discussion generated from KF under the support of these tools. It is posited that engaging students in tool-supported graphical drawing and knowledge building will be able to enhance learners’ graphical literacy and their online writing/discussing skills as reflected by effective planning strategy and external graphical representation for their online idea production.
