摘要 預印本是近年興起的學術傳播方式,尤其是自2019年COVID-19疫情爆發以來,更加快了預印本盛行的速度。雖然預印本因為未經正式同儕審查受到質疑,但相比傳統的期刊論文出版速度的緩慢,預印本的快速發表讓研究人員可搶得發表先機而受到歡迎,再加上絕大多數的預印本服務平台提供開放近取方式供免費閱讀全文,更提高了研究成果的能見度。
面對預印本為學術研究領域帶來的影響與永續發展的可能,本研究希望從專業的資訊服務提供者的角度,發現預印本服務平台的新商業模式,包括預印本文章能見度、作者從投稿到發表過程中的需求、期刊論文的生命履歷、個人學術影響力的表現方式、推廣台灣本地預印本服務平台的可行性、整合並加值現有預印本服務平台的永續服務與商業模式。
本研究運用PEST和策略鑽石模型進行預印本服務平台的分析,據此對預印本服務平台的商業模式提出三個概念,分別是從物件分享走向人際網路的分享、從文字走向研究數據與多媒體的多元性與多樣式,以及分享國際經驗,提高預印本的認可度與接受度。規劃從投稿到發表的整合作者服務平台,推動台灣本地的預印本服務平台,透過單次使用付費機制、機構訂閱方式、異業合作以及爭取政府經費等四個方向建立創新商業模式。
Preprints are an emerging form of scholarly communication in recent years, especially since the outbreak of the 2019 epidemic, which has accelerated their prevalence. Although Preprints have been questioned because they have not been formally peer-reviewed, open access publishing and speed up dissemination have been popular because they help researchers to increase and speed up visibility compared traditional journal publishing.
In view of the impact of Preprints on academic research and sustainable development, this study aims to discover new business models for Preprint sever from the perspective of professional information service providers, including the visibility of Preprint articles, the needs of authors, the life cycle of journal articles, the expression of personal academic influence, the feasibility of promoting local Preprint server in Taiwan, and the feasibility of value-added function to existing Preprint server.
This study uses PEST and the strategic diamond model to conduct the analysis and the business model of the Preprint services platform according to three concepts: moving from object sharing to researchers’ network sharing, moving from text to research data and multimedia plurality and diversity, and sharing international experience to increase the recognition and acceptance of Preprints. Innovation business model could be developed through an integration author service platform from submission to publication and promote a local Preprint server in Taiwan through four directions: single-use payment mechanism, institutional subscription, cross-industry cooperation, and securing government funding.
