摘要 學校畢業進入職場是一個重要人生過程,對未來勞力市場發展及職業地位取得有重要的影響。本研究採貫時性研究取徑,合併「東亞社會階層與社會流動研究」以及「臺灣社會變遷基本調查計畫第七期第三次」兩筆調查資料,進行序列分析。研究第一部分總分析樣本為5,304筆,呈現青年15歲至29歲期間從學校到工作序列軌跡,並透過事件史分析,探求青年離校後取得穩定工作的影響因素。第二部分總分析樣本為5,986筆,將學職轉銜50個月的序列軌跡區分成男性5類與女性4類,並利用多類別邏輯迴歸,分析青年歸屬何種類型的影響因素。
第一部分研究結果發現:男女15-29歲從學校到工作的序列軌跡存在差異。初入職場學歷與勞動市場世代對於離校青年取得穩定工作的風險率有正向影響,且相較於早期(1972年以前)勞動市場世代,中期(1973-1987年)與晚期(1988-2008年)勞動市場世代青年從初次離校到取得穩定工作的發生時間延後,持續時間縮短,性別差異正逐漸消失。
第二部分研究結果發現:父母親教育年數、族群、勞動市場世代以及初入職場學歷對青年學職轉銜類型的歸屬具影響性,而且隨著進入勞動市場世代越晚,青年越容易落入不穩定軌跡類型。
綜整兩部分發現,使我們能夠確認哪些青年進入勞動市場前最有可能經歷不穩定的轉銜,提供政策制訂者擬定有效的教育與就業政策來促進社會包容。
The trajectory from school to work is an important process in the life course, and it determines whether one’s prospect in the labor market and occupational status. Based on data from Social Stratification and Social Mobility in Three Countries and Round 7, Year 3 of Taiwan Social Change Survey, this study adopts longitudinal approach and uses sequence analysis to investigate young people’s trajectories from school to work.
The first part of the study explores the school-to-work trajectories for a total of 5,304 youth aged 15 to 29 years. Using event history analysis to explain why certain young adults are at a higher risk of getting a stable job after leaving school. In the second part of the study, we categorize 5,986 young people’s school-to-work trajectories into 5 male types and 4 female types. Using multinomial logistic regression to explain the factors that predict which type a young adult’s school-to-work transition belongs to.
The first part of the study finds the gender gap in young adults’ school-to-work trajectories. Education level and the labor market cohort have positive impact at a higher risk of getting a stable job. Meanwhile, compared with the early labor market cohort (before 1972), the middle labor market cohort (1973-1987) and the late labor market cohort (1988-2008), the time to get a stable job had postponed. Also, the time for having a stable job shortened, and the gender gap was gradually eliminated.
The second part of the research indicate that the parents’ education, ethnic, labor market cohort, and education have impact on young adults’ school-to-work trajectory. Also, young adults in the late labor market cohort are more likely to fall into the categories of precarious trajectories.
This allows us to identify which young people are most likely to experience precarious trajectories in the labor market. Policy makers might use such information to make social and educational policy more effectively to promote social inclusion.

dc.description.abstract (摘要) 學校畢業進入職場是一個重要人生過程,對未來勞力市場發展及職業地位取得有重要的影響。本研究採貫時性研究取徑,合併「東亞社會階層與社會流動研究」以及「臺灣社會變遷基本調查計畫第七期第三次」兩筆調查資料,進行序列分析。研究第一部分總分析樣本為5,304筆,呈現青年15歲至29歲期間從學校到工作序列軌跡,並透過事件史分析,探求青年離校後取得穩定工作的影響因素。第二部分總分析樣本為5,986筆,將學職轉銜50個月的序列軌跡區分成男性5類與女性4類,並利用多類別邏輯迴歸,分析青年歸屬何種類型的影響因素。
第一部分研究結果發現:男女15-29歲從學校到工作的序列軌跡存在差異。初入職場學歷與勞動市場世代對於離校青年取得穩定工作的風險率有正向影響,且相較於早期(1972年以前)勞動市場世代,中期(1973-1987年)與晚期(1988-2008年)勞動市場世代青年從初次離校到取得穩定工作的發生時間延後,持續時間縮短,性別差異正逐漸消失。
第二部分研究結果發現:父母親教育年數、族群、勞動市場世代以及初入職場學歷對青年學職轉銜類型的歸屬具影響性,而且隨著進入勞動市場世代越晚,青年越容易落入不穩定軌跡類型。
綜整兩部分發現,使我們能夠確認哪些青年進入勞動市場前最有可能經歷不穩定的轉銜,提供政策制訂者擬定有效的教育與就業政策來促進社會包容。

dc.description.abstract (摘要) The trajectory from school to work is an important process in the life course, and it determines whether one’s prospect in the labor market and occupational status. Based on data from Social Stratification and Social Mobility in Three Countries and Round 7, Year 3 of Taiwan Social Change Survey, this study adopts longitudinal approach and uses sequence analysis to investigate young people’s trajectories from school to work.
The first part of the study explores the school-to-work trajectories for a total of 5,304 youth aged 15 to 29 years. Using event history analysis to explain why certain young adults are at a higher risk of getting a stable job after leaving school. In the second part of the study, we categorize 5,986 young people’s school-to-work trajectories into 5 male types and 4 female types. Using multinomial logistic regression to explain the factors that predict which type a young adult’s school-to-work transition belongs to.
The first part of the study finds the gender gap in young adults’ school-to-work trajectories. Education level and the labor market cohort have positive impact at a higher risk of getting a stable job. Meanwhile, compared with the early labor market cohort (before 1972), the middle labor market cohort (1973-1987) and the late labor market cohort (1988-2008), the time to get a stable job had postponed. Also, the time for having a stable job shortened, and the gender gap was gradually eliminated.
The second part of the research indicate that the parents’ education, ethnic, labor market cohort, and education have impact on young adults’ school-to-work trajectory. Also, young adults in the late labor market cohort are more likely to fall into the categories of precarious trajectories.
This allows us to identify which young people are most likely to experience precarious trajectories in the labor market. Policy makers might use such information to make social and educational policy more effectively to promote social inclusion.
