Traditionally, the concept of health was viewed as not sick or no-illness and the mental health was conceptualized as absence of mental illness. But our argument was merely that the no-illness did not promise function well, physically and emotionally. We needed more evidence to prove the presence of something positive, not merely the absence of mental illness. There were 1911 Taiwanese randomly selected from the north, the central, and the south of Taiwan. All of the participants had to complete three questionnaires, i.e., Subjective Well-Being Scale, Taiwan Depression Scale, and Health Promotion Scale. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics. Findings were summarized as follows: (1) Most Taiwanese did not exhibit mental illness symptoms, however, 11.3% of the Taiwanese were classified into the languishing mental health status; (2) Developing uplifts in health responsibility, stress managements, and social support were predictors of Taiwanese transitioning from languishing to flourishing mental health statuses. Finally, several concrete suggestions for the policy making about teachers’ mental health were proposed.
