Guidance for juvenile delinquents is a crucial undertaking of the changing society. The purpose of this study was to develop a structured model of guidance including a series of cognitive-behavioral strategies for delinquent adolescents, and to evaluate the effects of those group processes on their cognition and behavior changes. The subjects were 32 delinquent adolescents who were under the probation of Taoyuan Juvenile Institution, and whose major behavior problem is stealing. Based on the different type and degree of cognitive and behavioral disturbances, they were divided into two groups, and the subjects of each group were randomly assigned to the experimental and control group. The results of the study were found that both the two experimental groups had positive changes in cognition, behavior and self-concept, especially in self-assertiveness and self-esteem.-
