Abstract: 基於Coleman家庭資源理論的觀點,本文研究目的主要在探討家庭資源與教育成就間的動態連結機制,特別是社會資本在家庭社經背景與學童教育成就間所扮演的角色。研究樣本取自臺灣教育長期追蹤資料庫(TEPS)的次級資料,運用結構方程模式做為資料的分析方式,主要結果發現如下:(1)本研究所提出的家庭資源與教育成就的動態連結機制,相當程度地獲得實證支持,亦即本研究結果支持Coleman家庭資源理論的觀點;(2)社會資本在家庭社經地位與教育成就的關係間扮演著重要的中介角色;(3)社經複製的路徑,會因為是否有無社會資本的中介作用而呈現出不同路徑結構,所得研究結果稍異於衝突論觀點。最後,針對研究結果及研究限制,提出相關建議,做為未來研究參考。
Based on the perspectives of Coleman’s family resources theory, the main purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between family resources and educational achievement, especially the role of social capital among them. By means of structural equation modeling to analyze the raw data from TEPS, the major findings are as follows. (1) The model of affecting educational achievement through human capital, financial capital, and social capital is significantly supported; namely, the theory of Coleman family resources is supported by empirical data; (2) social capital plays an important role in the effect of family resources on educational achievement; (3) the effect of both the educational and the economical reproduction vary with the whether conditional on social capital or not, which somewhat differs from the traditional perspectives of conflict theory. Finally, some the limitations of methodology and implications of research are further proposed and discussed in this study.
