dc.description.abstract (摘要) | This paper aims to probe into how Wang Wen-hsing’s Family Catastrophe, a classic modernist novel in Taiwan, becomes a work of faded-out modernism in English translation. Besides, it seeks to explore how the English translator adopts the translation strategy of domestication, instead of foreignization, to reconstruct a “translation-and-transformation” copy, a “repetition in difference,” which is “almost the same, but not quite.” | |
